Should I Upgrade More Than Just the Controller?
When installing a Navitas controller, there are several affected systems that you should consider upgrading
at the same time.
• SOLENOID
The solenoid takes power from the battery and delivers it to your Navitas controller. We recommend
upgrading your solenoid to a minimum rating of 200 amps or more, depending on your needs.
• WIRING
Because you are carrying more power from your battery to your controller, ensuring that your
wiring can safely carry that current is critical. We recommend a minimum of 4 AWG wiring or
more, depending on your needs.
• PRE-CHARGE RESISTOR / COIL SUPPRESSION DIODE
The pre-charge resistor and coil suppression diode are only
needed on the following vehicles:
a. Series Vehicles
Require a pre-charge resistor
b. EZGO DCS Vehicles
Require the Coil Suppression Diode as well as the board from
the OEM controller. These vehicles can be identified by their
10-pin connector
